I am trying to remember the name of this movie that I saw as a kid!?

The only bit that I remember vividly is a part where these kids (orphans maybe???) are throwing tomatoes at each other, arguing. They all lived together, different ages. I also remember blue overalls, and a lake with ducks or geese or something. Lol. I know it's not a lot to go on, but if you can help that would be great! This has really been bugging me! I think the movie was made in the late 70's-early 90's if that helps any. Thanks!
