How can I reduce the amount of sodium in my diet?

I already stay away from processed and ready-made foods, like frozen meals and pickled things, but I always eat too much sodium over the course of the day. On a regular day, I might eat 2600 mg of sodium. My largest intake of sodium is usually from meat dishes, but even on days I don't eat meat, I still eat too much sodium. Suggestions?
