How do you wash creosote out of my work overalls and hat?

After working with creotec ( a substitute for creosote) I have it in my overalls and hat- should I just stick those two items in a wash-40 degrees and wash? Not with other clothes? And is it ok to wash them together? They stick(had to get the items out of my car).
